This morning we listened to the song Faithful Still, read Isaiah 43:1-2, and Lamentations 3:19-24
Is there something in your life right now that feels weighty or causes your heart to race? What things do you feel are the hardest in your life right now? What burdens are you carrying? Spend some time journaling or praying about them to God. Tell him why your heart races, or what feels weighty.
In Lamentations 3:21 the author states “Yet I call this to mind and therefore I have hope…” and then moves into verse 22. What moments of your past can you call to mind where you have already seen God’s faithfulness? Can you recall a moment where you felt his presence and the ways he protected you from the fire or carried you through deeper water?
If you have a recollection, write out what you remember from that time. If nothing comes to mind, spend some time thinking through difficult seasons in your past and ask God about it. Invite the Holy Spirit to show you the ways in which he carried you in that season.
But down your Bible, open your journal and have a pen ready. Set a timer on your phone for 10 minutes and then set your phone aside. Ask God what he wants to tell you about the season that you are in. Write down all that comes to mind. Don’t try to filter what might be your own thoughts. Just write down all that comes to mind. Once your time ends, review what you’ve written. Is there a theme? Does it align with what you already know about God from scripture?
The remainder of our time is for you and God. Share your heart with him and invite him to speak to you.
We would love to keep you in the loop for our future solitude days. Please fill out the information below so we can make sure to include you in our reminders.
